String Crossing: My Go-To Exercise

Welcome to my first lesson! To get started, I want to take a look at a particular diminished exercise that has been an absolute staple of my own practice routine for over 15 years and one that REALLY helps me maintain my basic level of fingerboard dexterity! Why do I like it so much? Because it works alternating pairs of fingers on the fretting hand, involves string skipping and string raking on the plucking hand – a really multi-functional exercise where you can get a lot of mileage from a given chunk of practice time!
