In this lesson we’re going to look at building octaves. Octaves are a piece of vocabulary that crops up in bass lines across many different genres, and as such it’s extremely beneficial to build significant fluidity with them! One example I gave inside is Jamiroquai’s Canned Heat (Transcription coming down the line!) but many MANY disco lines also use a lot of octave vocabulary and given that we almost always need to skip strings for them, nailing down exactly how you’re going to approach them is worthy of attention! As such we’re going to look at multiple exercises to do this along with some simple ways of expanding them!
