This is a track I first learned years ago while I was working on cruise ships, and the situation on that gig was needing to learn a lot of music in a small space of time so a lot of the details were missed. Going back into this track it was interesting to see which parts I’d gotten right and which parts I’d missed or gotten plain wrong!
One of the standout parts of the line is the bridge where we’re moving between different Eb arpeggios, power chord to Major 7 to Dominant 7 and back to Major 7, and doing so with a little separation between the notes. When we move into the second verse there are little details like the hammer on’s from 4th-5th (Ab-Bb), little details that really add to the overall development of the line!
This track was P bass into the Cali76 compressor, then straight into my interface, simple and effective!
