This is a song that sometimes comes up at gigs and the challenge is always not to overplay! Much like Billie Jean, Thriller and Play That Funky Music, the groove is incredibly consistent throughout and players often tamper with that to the detriment of the music (i’m not saying don’t add anything, just be judicious!)
For those of you towards the start of your bass journey and looking to build some repertoire, this tune is a fun one to work in, it’s not difficult technically and once you get the geography of the song worked out, it’s all about consistency of execution!
