I hope AI music doesn't get traction, nothing compares to actually seeing real artists, even covers can't convey the same emotions as the original, usually at least. And what will the next generation strive for? Violin lessons or AI app thats easy and intuitive, I'm starting now in my 50s and embrace the grind and acknowledge the large investment required to improve but kids have life pretty easy now and everything at their finger tips, as I try and teach my grandkids some simple piano chords and nursery rhymes it doesn't take long for their attention to dwindle and want xbox ps5 or IPad.....
I very much hope it doesn't get traction but I also have zero confidence in the major labels whose only concern is the bottom line. Through bandcamp and platforms like it though, the smaller artists creating great things can hopefully continue to prosper if we are there to support them!
As far as attention span is concerned, I think it's about framing it in a way that's relevant to them, and sparking their interest and motivating them to sit and do the work. My own daughter has been going through this and we've been coaching her that when something doesn't go right, it means we need to practice and work on it. Small steps!
